This workshop will enable the participants to determine whether they are ready (and willing!) to take the step to the boardroom. Sometimes people find themselves presented with the opportunity to become a board member - perhaps on the basis of either being good at something else (e.g., being a senior manager, an accountant or an engineer) or perhaps by accident! Often, no consideration is given to whether they are board-ready or capable. ~~~ This interactive workshop explores what it means to be a director, the duties, and obligations that the role brings with it and how it differs from being a manager in an organization. It also examines the skills, knowledge and mind-set that are required of an effective board member and provide delegates who wish to make the leap to the boardroom with signposting to areas where they can get further support and training in order to develop into confident and effective directors. ~~~ Date: 27 April 2021~~~Time: 11:00am - 1:00pm Atlantic~~~Location: Virtual Classroom ~~~IoD Member Rate: $100.00~~~Non-Member Rate: $150.00 ~~~The following is additional information regarding the IoD's cancellation policy. ~~CANCELLATION: Refunds will be granted upon receipt of written (email) notification of cancellation up to 45 days before the course start date. We regret that cancellation requests received ater the specified date cannot be refunded and fees are not transferrable to other courses. ~~~ However, the IoD at its own discretion may review exceptional circumstances and vary this policy on a case by case basis (in which case a minimum $100 cancellation fee would apply). ~~~ Please note that refunds to American Express cards will incur a 4.5% deduction, this represents the non-refundable fee charged to the BII and we regret that this fee must be passed on to registrants. ~~~ COURSE CHANGE REQUESTS - Course change requests occur when the same person transfers from one course to another, subject to availability, and cannot be guaranteed. Course change requests must be made before the cancellation deadline. A minimum transfer fee of $50 will apply. ~~~ NO-SHOWS - 'No-shows' are registrants who do not attend the seminar for which they are registered. No refund- credit, partial or full will be given to No-shows, regardless of the method of payment.
