Diploma in Company Direction - Developing Board Performance~
The Diploma in Company Direction is a three-day module that provides a unique opportunity to put into practice the knowledge gained from the Certificate in Company Direction in a realistic and safe environment. It encourages peer-group support, challenge and stimulation, and puts your skills to the test as you act as a board member to tackle a real-life board-room scenario, mirroring in many ways the operation of a board. ~~
By replicating the issues of a 'real' organisation, you will gain hands-on experience that will not only enable you to achieve a world-class qualification, but also to make a significant impact on your board's effectiveness. ~~
You will receive feedback on your own performance as a board member and return to your organisation ready to tackle future challenges with greater expertise and confidence. ~~
Who should attend?~
Experienced directors and senior leaders who have completed the Certificate in Company Direction and wish to further their development with practical application and understanding of the knowledge and skills required at board level.
Participation on this course will enable you to:
" Understand your board's role, its dynamic, power, influence and conflicts
" Gain knowledge of important topics: risk and crisis management, decision-making, mergers and acquisitions, and board performance
" Understand relevant techniques and tools to improve personal skills and that of the board
" Evaluate and improve the performance of your board, its committees and individual directors
~When you have passed the Diploma examination you will be awarded the Diploma in Company Direction. This is also an essential step for achieving Chartered Director status, the professional qualification that recognises the professionalism and experience of directors. ~

~~The following is additional information regarding the IoD's cancellation policy.~~
Refunds will be granted upon receipt of written (email) notification of cancellation up to 45 days before the course start date. We regret that cancellation requests received ater the specified date cannot be refunded and fees are not transferrable to other courses.
However, the IoD at its own discretion may review exceptional circumstances and vary this policy on a case by case basis (in which case a minimum $100 cancellation fee would apply).
Please note that refunds to American Express cards will incur a 4.5% deduction, this represents the non-refundable fee charged to the BII and we regret that this fee must be passed on to registrants.
Course change requests
Course change requests occur when the same person transfers from one course to another, subject to availability, and cannot be guaranteed. Course change requests must be made before the cancellation deadline. A minimum transfer fee of $50 will apply.
'No-shows' are registrants who do not attend the seminar for which they are registered. No refund- credit, partial or full will be given to No-shows, regardless of the method of payment.
